Jack it up, tear it up, another slab
For 2005 I thought we would be doing great if we could get two new families and maybe raise enough money to replace the floor in the church's hallway. God had different ideas though and a church member was blessed with a economic windfall that allowed him/her to donate $4000 to the church (the condition of the donation was total anonymity) so another major portion the rebuilding project could be done!
As a result of this donation we were able to jack up the roof on the east side of our sanctuary so that we will be able to have a 9' ceiling line. Then we tore out half of the eastside wall so we could see what else we have to do to widen the sanctuary to 26'. Finally we purchased 9 yards of concrete and poured the new slab that will let us start building the new eastside wall and classrooms.
Our visitors now outnumber our members on a fairly consistent basis but so far we have had no new members. This concerns me greatly and I pray to God often about our membership status.
